Lots of color

Knitting and crocheting have been making quite a comeback the last few years and with that, so has a popular pottery item called yarn bowls. They are a handy bowl with a slit or hole in the side to string yarn through to keep the ball of yarn from rolling around and getting away from you while you work. I've had a number people inquire if I made them and at the time I didn't. After several questions, though I thought I should give it a try. Here's the first batch out - they are very colorful.

They've been fun to make and I think I'll be making more. Have a great weekend!

I've been making yarn bowls like crazy.. for some reason, the knitters come out of the woodwork when they see a yarn bowl. I started to add a little strap over one side with some holes for needles, and now everyone wants the bowls with the strap.

I LOVE your glaze colors.. what cone do you fire to? :)

Knitters seem to be everywhere these days. Much different than a decade ago when knitting was what your grandma did. It's great to see so much interest.

These pieces are from my Cone 7 firing last week that maybe made it to Cone 5. The glazes are in the range of Cone 4 - 8 so they seemed to come out OK.
